___my overseas trip
It was a trip totally filled with shopping and more shopping. It's like we were given so much freedom to explore both Guangzhou and Hongkong by ourselves. So we could travel the entire country by ourselves if we wanted to. hahas. But I think that I was rather un-adventurous! Didn't travel as much as many other people. Yet I had a very tiring trip already, because I slept so little and had my meals at weird times.
The BAND trip turned out
not to be a musically-inclined one. The two performances we put up, one at a Guangzhou university (GDUFS) and the other at Park Island (Hongkong), turned out to be rather hopeless. I felt that it was the first time we had played so badly. The only good musical reward that came out of this trip was the Xing Hai Conversatory music exchange with us. Wow! The people there were really good. It made me want to dedicate my life to studying a passion like percussion, and being as excellent as them, instead of forcing myself to study for subjects that I don't really have a passion for.
Anyway, Guangzhou was quite pleasant. I thought it would be bad. haha. It was just that I really didn't dare to eat the char siew bau because I was very afraid that it might contain dog meat! Ahh. And the taxis there are rather weird. They make us feel like we're in a bird cage because there's metal railings surrounding us, forming a barrier between us and the taxi driver.
Hongkong made me feel really worn out from all the shopping and walking around that we had to do. It was fun, but quite draining. 3 days of shopping there is enough for any normal person to feel tired. haha. Anyway, I loved Disneyland. The fireworks there were so beautiful and so touching that they almost made me and Joanne cry. haha. It felt magical. Ocean Park had less of that fantasy feeling, and many more people. But the rides were quite exciting though.
7 days really passed by so quickly. I loved the food in Hongkong, with all the fantastic wantons and desserts. But there's quite a serious lack of vegetables and fruits there! haha. I enjoyed myself being out of boring Singapore, but the whirlwind of things taking place overseas overwhelmed me at times. Now I'm back here to where everything seems to move by more slowly. Welcome me back! (:
