___pleasant surprises
Happy birthday to Sophie, one of the 4 Charlie's angels in our PW group! I hope you were touched by our surprise for you! Christine and I had a simply great time lighting up the candles because we were so afraid of the fire! hahas.
I realise that when you don't expect something and yet you receive it, you'll feel very happy. Sophie didn't expect us to surprise her at all, so I could really see how full of joy her face was at the sight of the cake. I was so proud of ourselves, that we managed to bring about so much happiness in her! hahas.
Sometimes, isn't it just like that when people interact with one another? The least you expect of someone, the more your joy when that someone is unexpectedly nice to you. Just like how the auntie selling noodles made me so happy because she remembered me and asked after me. It's like I expect good friends to ask after me, so I would be upset if they don't. Maybe this is what causes unhappiness among friends? Simply because we expect others to behave in a certain manner and others don't do so?
Maybe if I just put down all my expectations, I would be a happier person. Since I don't even expect anything in the first place, I wouldn't be disappointed at all. Yet that's such a hard thing to do.
Band is filling up my days all over again. We are left with so many things unsettled that we're rushing through everything now. So so busy! I hope everything turns out fine in the end, that we'll manage to juggle all the events and create a string of fund-raising successes.
