EVERYTHING I'M NOT

The world can drive one crazy
But a smile can bring me through.
Reminding myself not to be unhappy
Because the world has its beauty.

___thoughts

So soon. The current batch of excos are like passing down their duties to us after Etude, which is in 2 weeks' time. I think the band will be so different without our seniors. They truly make up NJ band as I know it, and I seriously can't imagine the band without them. I think why I am happy in NJ now, why I can feel a sense of love here in this school, is because of the band. Such a wonderful place, such a great bunch of people. I stayed on in NJ because of the band. I really will strive to do my best, to make this beautiful experience of a band happen for other people too.

I realise everyone is forever busy with their own activities in different CCAs. That's why I find it so hard to keep in contact with my secondary school clique (yuqi chong me!). It's like so many people in NJ are still going out with their past cliques very often, and I just can't understand how they free their time. Until auntiess said something which hit me: "Make the effort." She was talking about how she told her clique to make the effort to meet up often. I suddenly realised that what my clique has been lacking in is this effort to keep in touch. So we've decided to start making the effort by meeting up once a month! No matter how busy we might be. That's a promise to keep.

These three words "make the effort" are so important. I guess when I graduate from JC, I would really like to keep in contact with the close friends that I have made here, and of course those from primary and seconday school too. But nothing will start unless there is an effort to make things happen. So it's definitely not impossible to be sitting at a cafe 10 years later with your primary school/secondary school/JC friends and chatting like you've never parted ways before. The point is to make the effort. And I believe that if you treasure your friends, you will.
