___chinese new year!

I guess Chinese New Year was fun afterall. =D

Spent the first day visiting my relatives' houses, with the usual routine of greetings for Chinese New Year, giving oranges and then collecting hongbaos. Of course, we ate quite a bit. Oh yah, and not forgetting mahjong! It's a great game to play actually, and my slight expertise in it amazes my older relatives. hahaa. Lost quite a bit of money though. Boo. =/ Luck was on my side the first day, but not on the second day! Wahahaa.

I was at home most of the second day, with relatives coming over to my house. Kind of slacked the whole day away while trying to be a good host. hahaa. Didn't really dare to eat much New Year goodies, because I'm afraid of putting on weight. =P This is the first year I've not eaten so much during this festive period. Think it's partly because of my just-recovered sore throat. I didn't dare to make myself sick again.

This Chinese New Year only lasted for 2 short days! There was quite a lack of atmosphere considering that we didn't have time to complete our usual visiting routine. I always think that Chinese New Year is a great time for family bonding. That's why I love this festive period the most! Because there is a feeling of unity within the whole extended family when we get together, with well-wishes being spread around. =) We should have more than 2 days of holiday. hahaa.
